Jeronimo Martins Dystrybucja is the owner of the biggest retail chain in Poland – “Biedronka.” The company started its operations on the Polish market in 1995. Since then, the company has invested nearly 5 billion PLN into development and modernization. In Poland, apart from the “Biedronka” chain, the company owns the chain of Hebe chemists.

Jeronimo Martins Dystrybucja belongs to the Portuguese Group Jeronimo Martins, which is the biggest food concern in Portugal. It owns Pingo Doce supermarkets chain, the chain of Recheio “cash&carry” wholesalers and Unilever Jeronimo Martins, a company producing fast-moving consumer goods. Jeronimo Martins is also the sole distributor in Portugal of such world brands as Calvin Klein, Nino Cerutti or Hussel, Nestle (chosen brands), Bahlsen, Heinz/Guloso, and Kellog's. Other brands that the company manages are Gallo Worldwide, 26 Jeronymo newsagents and cafés, chain of Ola ice-cream stores along with five franchises, Chili’s restaurant in Lisbon, Ben&Jerry’s store and Oliwa restaurant. The concern employs the total of 61,000 people. Since 1989 the shares of Jeronimo Martins Group are listed on the Portuguese stock exchange.
