In Jeronimo Martins Dystrybucja we are aware of the fact that these employees must be carefully recruited and perfectly qualified. We are among the biggest employers in Poland. We employ over 35 000 people who are strongly oriented towards acting and realising set goals; employees, who are responsible and actively participate in building the success of the company. It is very important to us that our employees fully realise themselves at work, therefore we invest in their development.

We invest in promoting our own employees – over 90% of our managers have been promoted to the managerial positions from lower organizational levels.

We give the employees the opportunity to gain new knowledge and improve their skills through performing many different tasks and projects, through participating in on-the-job trainings and in different – both specialist and language – courses.

We support employees’ initiative aiming at increasing their qualifications through the system of subsidizing various individual forms of education.

Managerial staff has an opportunity to develop its managerial competences through participating in educational programmes that are created according to managers’ particular needs. It is worth underlining that so far over 1000 managers and employees who were designed for promotion participated in the programmes such as: Executive MBA (1 year), Management Academy (2 years) and Biedronka Management Academy (8 months).

We care to see our employees from a broader perspective, not only through their activities in particular departments but also in the company as a whole. That is why we try to create a cohesive team consisting of people who respect and trust each other and who are eager to co-operate. For that reason we organize company picnics, traditional Christmas/New Year’s Parties as well as yearly meetings for managers.

As a Trustworthy Employer we are aware that keeping balance between professional and family life is very important for our employees. Hence, within the scope of our activities, there are some campaigns addressed not only to our employees but to their families as well. We organize summer camps for children; we prepare rucksacks filled with school accessories for those who are going to school for the first time in their lives; we also try to meet the needs of all disabled (and seriously ill) children of JMD employees.
