Let Us Take Care of Our Health

Since 2005, we have been encouraging all employees to take part in the programme of free-of-charge prophylactic tests “Let Us Take Care of Our Health Together.” From the very beginning of the programme, we have invited over 100,000 women and 15,000 men. In 2011, the ambassadors of the programme were the company’s employees who appeared on posters and in educational materials. Professional partner of the project is the Polish Committee for Anti-Cancer. The project was distinguished in the Good Practice Report of the Responsible Business Forum and the Golden Otis award.
The employees also willingly make use of free-of-charge flu shots.

Christmas Presents

It has already become a tradition that JMD employees receive Christmas packages full of sweets from us for themselves and for their children. We also accompany children who go to school for the first time – this year, parents of as many as 2,100 first graders received school supplies. Within the framework of action “Birth with Biedronka”, we have distributed almost 1,900 packages for newborns among our employees.

Summer Holidays with Biedronka

The mountains or the sea? These are the dilemmas that parents of several hundred children have to face every year. These children go to summer camps financed by JMD. This type of assistance is aimed at families that have financial problems. So far, more than 2,800 children participated in such camp. Every year, children from poor families taken care of by Caritas also go on holiday.

Valuable Assistance

We do not leave without help these people who need it most. We assist our employees in taking care of their handicapped children by financing purchase of specialist equipment, medications or sanatorium stays. Material assistance in the form of grants or loans is provided to employees and their families who are in a difficult financial situation

International Children’s Day

On the first of June every year our stores, offices and distribution centres are opening their doors in front of children. On this day, children of the company’s employees may get to know the work place of their parents. Celebrations of the Children’s Day are also accompanied by festivals organised in distribution centres and a drawing competition. This year, the competition winner went for a wonderful trip!
